Snowy Weekend!
CARAC Treatment
I am hoping & praying this treatment works. I am a little leary as I haven't had the bad side effects that most people have while using this cream on the face area. I'm on Day 10 of the treatment for what my dermatologist calls "sun damage" above my lips. The cream kills off any pre-cancerous cells. So far I haven't had any discomfort other than my lips feeling dry & chapped. No scabs or open, bleeding sores which most people get. I am thankful for that but hoping the cream is doing its job! Looks like I may have some scabs forming, hopefully the cream will do it's thing in the next 4 days so I will be done with it! Have to see my Dr. next Monday. If this treatment doesn't work she may do a biopsy which she says will leave a scar. Hoping I don't have to have that done but if I do at least I will know that I tried this first!
Blogging Again!
Hello! It's been a few years since I've blogged but I'm hoping to start back up again & keep up with it. I have some things that I want to keep a diary of & this seems to be the best way to do it! So, I'm gonna try again! I am on Day 10 of using CARAC cream on my upper lip for sun damage. It is supposed to kill any pre-cancerous skin cancer cells but has some unsightly side effects (dry, cracking skin & open sores). So far it's not too bad but supposed to get worse before I'm done. I have been taking pics everyday so that I have a record of when things happen. I have used this once before & I couldn't remember what happened on which day so am hoping that by blogging about it I will have a record in case I have to use it again.
I love a good bargain & saving money so I hope to keep a record of the deals I am able to get & the coupons I use. There are alot of wonderful blogs out there that list the deals at each store for the week which I use & am thankful for but this will not be that kind of blog. They are a huge help to me & anyone who uses coupons, but this will be just for my personal record. I should have started at the beginning of the year so that I would be able to know my savings for the year but better late than never!
My husband & I love to garden so hopefully our gardening adventures will be here too.
Thanks so much for stopping by, please come by & visit again!

Mom's Birthday Pic
Good Morning! We had this pic of my Mom & my sis & I taken on Mom's birthday. Mom was able to hold the lace dress up to her so that it would look like she had it on. It would have been too hard for her to change into it while she was in the wheelchair so this worked out great! I am off to go take my walk before it gets too hot! Have a wonderful day!
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart - "But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he will stand upon the earth at last. I shall see him, not as a stranger, but as a friend." What a glorious hope! Amen."

This is a little paperbag album that I made for my friend for her birthday. We met today & went to a Quilting, Craft & Sewing show & had a fun time. We have been friends for over 20 years. We used to make crafts together all the time but she moved about 2 hours away from where I live so we don't get to very often anymore.
We did a couple of "Make It & Take It" crafts at the sewing show.
This little angel bell is supposed to be sleeping but I would like her better if she was smiling! She is a flower turned upside down. She was real easy to make, we finished her in about 5 mins!
I wanted to make this little ladybug because I have never done felting before. Whereas the little angel took us about 5 mins. to make, this guy took about 30! I thought he would make a cute pin cushion.
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart - "I will give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. Amen"Monday, March 05, 2007
Spring is Coming....
Doesn't this arrangement look like Springtime? It feels like Spring here today. It is a beautiful sunny day & it is supposed to be in the low 80's! We change our clocks next weekend & I am ready! I can't wait. I love having sunlight in the late afternoons & early evenings! My DH & I can take walks after he gets home from work again! I miss our walks in the wintertime.
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart - "From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets - the name of the Lord is to be praised." Amen

Happy Birthday Mom!
Tomorrow, March 3rd is my Mom's birthday! My sis & I are taking her out to breakfast at Mimis & then to the Mall to do some shopping. Here is a pic of her when she was in her early 20's:
And this was about 5 years ago when she volunteered at the Sr. Citizens Center. She cooked meals & did blood pressure checks:

First Project!
I only finished one card today but it was fun working on my first project in my newly renovated craft room!
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart - "You keep Your promises, dear God, and so I know that after winter there will surely come the spring, that after darkness there will surely come the light, that after rain the birds will sing. Amen"
Ready for Spring!
Good Morning! This picture reminds me of Springtime! I am ready for Spring! This morning it was so cold when I got up. I looked out the window & there was snow on the neighbor's car! We don't get much snow here in So. CA & it rarely ever sticks.
I have more boxes to go through but I decided to take a break today & do some card-making! My Mom's birthday is Sat. so I need to make a birthday card for her & also some "thinking of you" cards for my aunts that live in Ark. & have just come through the tornado.

Making Progress!
Hello! We got alot of work done on the craft room on Sat! It looks so much better in there & I can't wait to do some sewing & make some cards! Here is the room when we started (what a mess!). DH got the treadmill folded up & it is still huge! It had become a catch-all for the boxes & tubs we brought back from my ILs house after they passed away.
And this is afterwards, I am still not thrilled to see that treadmill in the corner when I walk in the room but for now at least it's out of the way!
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart - "Thank You that Your mercies are new each day. I pray that You will renew my body to serve You. Amen"

My DH made the pink chest for me years ago. I have momentos from my family in there & my quilts on top. Still working on the room but at least we got a good start!
I was born & raised in the town of Dumas, AR which is the town that was hit by the tornados on Sat. I have 3 aunts, 2 uncles & a cousin & his wife that live there. As far as we know they are all OK. I haven't been able to reach one aunt & uncle but we know that their neighborhood wasn't hit by the tornado & their neighbor is my uncle's sister & she is OK. They do not have power or water yet & the phones work sporadically. This is a small town of 5200 people & I heard on the news that 1/3 of the businesses there were destroyed. It is going to take them a long time to recover, please keep them in your prayers.
I am off to Wal-Mart, have a wonderful day!

Good Morning! We had rain most of the night but it is gone now & has left us with a beautiful clear, cool morning! Lots of big puffy clouds in the sky. I will be off shortly to take Mom to run errands. She needs to pick up a prescription at her Drs office & then go by the veggie stand. I hope to get to Michaels & Joanns later this afternoon if I can work that in!
I am about to begin a big project! We have a very small extra bedroom that is filled with #1, a big treadmill that doesn't fold up & has become a catch-all for anything that needs to be stored! #2, lots of boxes & tubs with momentoes from my ILs that I don't want to part with but need to find a place to store & #3, my sewing machine & stamping stuff buried beneath the boxes & tubs! I want to turn that room back into a crafting room which is what we orignially had planned. When my ILs passed away we brought all of their special things home & it has been too overwhelming to go through all of it before now. I would love to be able to go in there & craft so that I don't have to bring everything out onto my kitchen table. I think DH & I will start on it this weekend! We will have to figure out places for everything which means getting rid of stuff but it needs to be done & now is the time!
I have been thinking about getting a die cut machine for awhile but since I haven't been able to craft much I didn't think I would use it. My friend got a Cuttlebug awhile back & loves it. It is a smaller machine & not as expensive as the bigger machines. Since I don't do a lot of stamping & cardmaking I have been thinking this one might be a good investment. Now that I am going to have a craft room I decided to take the plunge! Armed with my 40% off coupon I went to Joanns yesterday & got one. It is really neat, I love it & it is really motivating me to get my craft room ready quickly!

I will take some before pics when we start our project this weekend & hopefully some after pics real soon! I need to get going, must tidy up the house before I pick up Mom!
Thoughts from a Thankful Heart -
"Thank You for this day. Give me Your great love, and the patience to do the small things that count for You. Amen."

Antiquing Treasures
Hello! My sis & I went antiquing on Sat. & I came home with a couple of treasures! I began collecting crocheted heart pinchusions after I saw a display of them years ago in a Country Living magazine. This crocheted red heart is actually pillow size but I loved it anyway! Even though Valentine's Day is past, I still have my Valentine's decorations up & this pillow fits right in! I inherited my grandma's love of floral plates. I was so happy to find this pretty pink rose one for a good price! My son & daughter-in-law came up for a visit last night & brought my grandpuppies:
We had dinner & then played Rook afterwards. They wiped us out, won both games by a huge margin! Oh well, there's always next time!Almost bedtime here, have a great day tomorrow!

Sunday Worship....
Unfailing Love(Chris Tomlin)
You have my heart
And I am yours forever
You are my strength
God of grace and power
And everything
You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me
I can't understand
Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God, You remain
The Holy One and my unfailing love
Unfailing love
You are my rock
The One I hold on to
You are my song
And I sing for You
And everything
You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me
I can't understand
Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God,
You remain
The Holy One and my unfailing love
Unfailing love
And everything (everything)
You hold in Your hand
And still You make time for me
I can't understand
Praise You, God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change, God, You remain
The Holy one and my unfailing love
Unfailing love
